how it works

From summer grilling season to holiday dinner parties, you will experience the practical convenience of having a broad selection of cuts in your freezer whenever needed. The time-saving conveniences along with the economical savings make our BEEF SHARES a great choice for families who are serious about eating healthy every day!

The majority of our cattle are pasture finished on spent grain.  We also supplement with hay as needed during the winter.  Our spent grain comes from four local breweries (Doomsday Brewing Company, Montavilla Brew Works, Threshold Brewing and Gorges Beer Company). If you find yourself in the area of these great establishments please pay them a visit and sample their products.  Better yet bring some home and try pairing them with some of our beef!

We offer Standard Angus and American Aberdeen Angus beef in 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or whole shares.  To ensure a variety of cuts we encourage customers to partner with friends and family to purchase the largest share possible. Our price per pound is based on hanging weight of animal. Because animals differ in size we can only give you an approximation of weight to determine your total price.

The price is decided based on hanging weight of animal divided by your share, plus:

  • cut and wrap fees

  • slaughter fee

  • delivery (can be negotiated)

Currently our beef is processed at Mountain Valley Meat Service in Parkdale, Oregon.

the details

  • Pre-cut to our most popular portion specifications.

  • Each cut is individually packaged and labeled with cut name.

How do I get started?

FIRST...

Decide your desired share size, how much beef do you want? Our standard Angus hang around 850 pounds while our Aberdeen Angus hang approximately 450 pounds. Choose which share size is best for you. For Aberdeen Angus we would recommend getting one share larger than a standard Angus. This again is to ensure a variety of cuts.

second...

Now your share size is determined, the next consideration is availability. We typically finish steers throughout the year to keep up with demand. Once steers are finished we transport them to Mount Valley Meat Service for processing. For shares 1/4 and larger, you have the choice of giving cutting instruction to the butcher. For help choosing cuts, reference this Beef Cuts PDF provided by BEEF. It's What's for Dinner, and don't hesitate to reach out to Bryan with any questions.
